# Monitoring and Scaling

## Monitoring

Cloud Servers include built-in metrics for:

* CPU, memory, disk, and network usage.
* Instance health and availability.
* Storage performance and throughput.

You can create dashboards and alerts for thresholds or unusual activity.

## Scaling

* Vertical scaling: resize an instance to a different type with a brief reboot.
* Horizontal scaling: add instances behind load balancers.
* Auto-scaling: scale based on demand, schedules, or custom metrics.

## Operational tools

* Web console access for troubleshooting.
* Rescue mode for recovery operations.
* API and CLI for automated workflows.
